This was a childhood neighborhood staple for me. And as an adult, I love this bakery. My family always gets their loaf of bread for the holidays. I also believe they have the best RI pizza slices in the area! Not to mention their Calazones and baked good are delicious. I've been here so many times, and each time I'm reminded why I keep coming back.

Sal's spinach pie is far better than other bakeries I've tried. It's stuffed full of spinach and olives and not at all greasy!

This neighborhood secret might want to stay a secret, but I love them. Get the sausage special and see what you think.

Today, we drove from East Hampton, Connecticut to Sal's Bakery in Providence, RI to buy their red large party pizzas. Each pizza is cut up into 60 squares, and we travel that far about once a year to buy 3 of them. We make a stop at our son and daughter's homes on the way back to CT to drop off a great big party pizza for each. It is our traditional day trip for all of us. Yes, it is that good! Our son and daughter-in-law found out about this Bakery years ago when they lived in RI and we have been going there ever since. It is absolutely the best. We love it cold, but you can certainly heat it up if you rather have hot pizza. We stuff ourselves with the pizza and then freeze the rest and enjoy it for weeks afterward. Great food, great service, wonderful people...stop there and find out for yourself!!

Great selection and even better prices! Staff was very kind. If you ask for recommendations and you wont be let down. I got a Sausage and Cheese calzone fresh out of the oven and it was divine. That, a huge loaf of fresh bread and a drink were $10 all together- what a deal!! Will definitely be returning to Sal's Bakery soon :)

I don't know what else to say besides I quite literally can't imagine getting bakery calzones anywhere else besides this spot. Highly suggest ordering the meatball calzone and the salami, provolone, and hot pepper calzone. The best part of this entire experience was the sweet older gentleman who answered the phone and took my order. He was funny, kind, and patient as he had a much better recommendation than my initial order.

Sal's Bakery- a staple for pizza strips and calzones in Rhode Island. Their pizza strips are AMAZING. They have the perfect amount of crunch to them- the ends are my favorite. They also have amazing calzones: meatball, chicken parm, ham/cheese/pepperoni, eggplant parm, etc.! They are always really good! It's a cozy little place located in Providence- in close proximity to Roger Williams hospital. Service is always friendly and prompt and prices are just as great. Got 4 calzones for like $14! Quick and easy lunch as well!

This is my favorite place to get pizza strips! I've tried pizza strips from many different bakeries, but feel that Sal's truly makes it the best! Their tomato sauce has a nice, sweet, and flavorful taste that's super delicious. I don't eat cheese so I always call ahead to order my pizza strips since the ones they sell individually have cheese on top. When I used to eat cheese, I also really loved their white pizza strips. Both their red and white pizza strips are amazing. The staff who work here are always nice also. Highly recommend!

I love Sal's. I love everything about this little neighbourhood bakery. These are the only pizza strips I buy. I bring them to every gathering I go to in Boston and I instantly become the star of the show. (get them cut party size!) the sauce is perfectly spiced and the bread is yummy. I've gotten loaves of bread, pies, calzones, cookies etc from here and really all great - just what you would think from a local bakery. The entire staff is great too.. all nice and you get the feel they've all been there since day one of the grand opening. it's a simple layout, with glass display cases - nothing fancy just great, local, family bakery products.
